Richard O. Salmony is a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  After graduating from Chapel Hill High School in 1997, he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.  After college, Richard moved back East and worked for the University of North Carolina Healthcare System in the physical therapy department.  During this time, he gained valuable experience treating both adult and pediatric patients in orthopedics, pulmonology, cardiology, and the burn center.  In May of 2005, Richard moved to Charleston, SC, with his wife Lindsey to attend the Medical University of South Carolina Physician Assistant Program.  In August of 2007, he graduated with honors receiving a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  He then joined Berkeley Family Practice.  His medical interests include cardiovascular health, nutrition, preventative medicine, and women's health.  In his free time, he enjoys jogging, playing tennis, wake boarding, and cooking.
