Charles Bounds, M.D.
Dr. Charles Bounds was born and reared in Richmond, VA, attending Henrico County public schools. He received his undergraduate degree with distinction in Biology from the University of Virginia in 1972 and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia in 1976. He did his internship and residency in Family Medicine at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA. He finished his residency in 1979 and moved to Moncks Corner, SC, as one of the founding members of Berkeley Family Practice, which opened its doors on August 6, 1979. He is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and holds a certificate of added qualifications in Sports Medicine. He is the team physician for Berkeley High School and the South Carolina Stingrays professional hockey team. Aside from sports medicine, his practice interests are diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. He is married to Kathleen and they have two children, Katie and Tim. His hobbies are music, photography, and computers.
